In active magnetic bearing control systems, the performance of closed-loop and application can be impaired by external disturbances. This article analyzes unbalanced pull forces produced eccentricity a high-speed 1MW 3-phase solid rotor induction motor. The effect on five-degree-of-freedom resulting vibrations are studied. Finite-element-method-based modeling electrical machine is carried out, results used in harmonic force analysis an bearing–rotor system. overall engineering model comprising dynamics, derived finite element method, forces, controller tested time-stepping simulations. simulations experimental reviewed. severity its effects robustness system hermetic steam turbogenerator applied marine waste heat recovery systems evaluated.
